The Universal City Public Library is proud to offer an extensive collection of materials and services for all ages, children to adults!
Library Cards are free for Texas residents. To sign up for a library card, applicants must provide a photo ID and a piece of mail postmarked to their current address within 60 days.
Up to 20 items may be checked out on one library card, with up to 4 of these items being DVD's. Books and audio books can be checked out for a 3 week period. DVD's can be checked out for 5 days. Renewal requests can be done online, over the phone, or in-person.
Interlibrary Loan (ILL) is available to Universal City Residents only at this time.
Internet and Computer access is available to the public for use. A valid Universal City library card is required to access a computer. Guest passes are also available for visitors upon request. Printing is limited to 5 pages and there is currently no charge for prints. (Printing services are offered in a limited capacity at this time. Please call the library for more information.) *The library will be receiving new computer & printing software during the Fall of 2022. Charges for printing and faxing will be re-instated at a later announced date. Computer usage rules and printing capabilities will be subject to change.
For ebooks and other digital materials, Universal City residents have access to the SimplyE app and the digital collections of the San Antonio Public Library and the Bexar County Bibliotech. Library staff will be happy to provide instruction on how to apply for these library cards, which are available to citizens of Bexar County.
