APPLICATION FOR CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT
As required by State Law, applications for a Conditional Use Permit require a public hearing with the Planning & Zoning Commission and a second and separate public hearing with the City Council. The process can take from six to eight weeks for the entire process to be completed. Applicants should review the Planning & Zoning Meeting Schedule to determine submittal timelines and meeting dates.
Applicants should also be aware of the Conditional Use Standards by which the Commission and Council, at minimum, weigh the request. Other issues or factors may also be considered that arise during the public hearings or consideration periods. Per Ordinance 581, if the City Council fails to approve or disapprove any proposed change or amendment (i.e. conditional use request), such change or amendment shall not be submitted and considered again before six (6) months have passed from the date of the City Council decision to disapprove. A proposed change or amendment that is withdrawn following the submission of a notice of public hearing of the City Council shall not be resubmitted and considered again before six (6) months have passed from the date of the public hearing.
The online Zoning Map can be used to determine the permitted, conditional, and not allowed uses per property address. The Zoning Ordinance is made available online through Municode.
