Use the Portal Link to access the new permitting software system. Create an account and apply for a contractor registration, if applicable. After the account registration is approved, an application for a permit(s) can be submitted through the portal. If already registered in the old permitting system, the registration fee for the new system will be waived.

DEVELOPMENT SERVICES

Development Services is a one stop resource for building, health, safety and zoning information. We've made every effort to provide the information you need as clearly as possible. For your convenience, the Codes and Ordinances for the City are available online. Additionally, in the Document Center, building permits and applications and a fee schedule (updated 9/30/2019) are available for downloading. The Development Service Package provides a brief overview of the codes used in the City, and the tasks that require a permit. SERVICES PROVIDED

Development Services is responsible for the review and permitting of all construction and development projects within the city, the performance of related inspections, and storm water management activities.

Other functions include enforcement of adopted city ordinances and state regulations relating to building, zoning, subdivision development, signs, and health and property maintenance codes to insure public safety and welfare of the community. Approval of development projects and requests for exception or variance to City ordinances are considered by the Planning and Zoning Commission and Board of Adjustment, as authorized by local ordinance and state law.

The department also maintains current maps of the City to include zoning, sewer, water and streets, as well as flood plain maps, property maps, construction plans and utility drawings.
