Council has previously approved consultant Solid Waste Specialists to seek Requests for Proposals (RFPs) on behalf of the City. The RFP is expected to result in a five-year contract with two two-year extension options for both commercial and residential waste and recycling services.
In the RFP, Council has considered various options for household waste and recycling services, a return to weekly brush pick collection, bulk item collection, and household hazardous waste services.
RFPs are due in February. A new contract is anticipated sometime in the spring of next year.
