Our Mission

Our Communications team is committed to providing transparent messaging that informs our residents and fosters a sense of connection with the community.  Our goal is to provide clear and timely messaging across all of our platforms; our website, social media, The Gateway Magazine and our new Public, Education and Government (PEG) channel. We understand the importance and responsibility of the messaging we provide to our neighbors, local businesses and visitors.

Our Communications platforms:

Emergency Alerts-We provide accurate event or emergency information and ongoing updates through our CivicPlus alert system. This system offers multilingual messaging designed to keep you and your family safe.

Social media--While we also use this platform to convey emergency information, on a day-to-day basis, we're online each day to bring you updated information about what's happening in our community.

The Gateway Magazine-Published six times per year, we strive to fill the magazine with the stories of the many interesting people who've chosen to make Universal City home.  Regular franchises include Business Insider, which profiles local businesses. Neighbor of Note, an introduction to one of our interesting neighbors. Out and About, photos from around town.  And an in-depth Cover Story that we commit extra resources to.

UC TV-Our soon-to-launch PEG channel has been years in the making.  You won't find news, weather and sports here. This is a community channel dedicated to airing local stories and information about how to use the resources of our city.  You'll meet amazing people, some who will make you laugh, others drop a tear.  The best way to get the latest updates on UC TV is to follow our official government Facebook page.
