Platting Requirements

PLAT SUBMITTAL REQUIREMENTS
All subdivision plats, re-plats, correction and amending plats shall be submitted to the Planning and Zoning Commission for consideration. An application and applicable fees are required with the prepared plat submittal.  General Plat Submittal Requirements and external agency Plat Review Letters should be reviewed and downloaded prior to submitting a plat application.  Persons or agencies that submit plat applications should be aware of the Meeting Schedule of the Planning and Zoning Commission.  Small projects typically take six to eight weeks for review and revisions; larger plats, depending on the type of project, can take up to four to six months for review and revisions.  As required by State Law, residential replats/amending plats require a legal notice be published and property owners within 200 feet of the subject site be notified in writing.  Due to the time sensitivity of the legal notice and the letters, it is suggested that you contact the Development Services Department to discuss the project before submitting an application.

Plats should be designed in accordance with State Law, engineering best practices and the Universal City Subdivision Ordinance and other Code of Ordinances which are available on line through Municode.

Gas, electric, and telecom locates are requested by calling the Texas 811 system a minimum of 72 hours prior to starting work. Universal City water and sewer locates can be request by calling 210-619-0723.  If a water sewer locate request is being made by email, please include a location map of the area where the work will occur.  Please be sure all areas are marked before making the utility locate request.
