From its early day in the 1930's, visionary business leaders recognized that setting up shop adjacent to a military base was a winning idea.  It still is. Our City leadership regularly joins members of the public at ribbon cuttings to officially welcome a new business. At the same time, we celebrate those that have been here for decades.

From the Beginning...

While Universal City wasn't incorporated until 1960, in 1929 three San Antonio doctors purchased what was then just farmland. They gambled on the vision that a town that sprung up across the tracks from a military airfield would attract both residents and businesses.
