Animal Care and Control serves the citizens and animals within our City limits and is committed to providing animal control by enforcement of our City Animal Ordinances and State Laws. As part of Public Works, and under the leadership of Sheila Perez, the department strives to provide compassionate care to all animals.
We are proud to partner with Homes for the Homeless to provide low-cost programs for adoptable animals, promote the importance of spaying and neutering of dogs and cats, and promote responsible pet ownership.
Last year, 170 animals found fur-ever homes. Penny Paws conducted twice-month low-cost vaccination days. And the shelter responded to 1500 wildlife and domestic animal complaints.
