Mission
The Mission of the Universal City Fire Department is to provide the highest quality of emergency services to citizens who live in or are visiting our community. We strive to provide services with the highest level of professionalism and courtesy.
UCFD currently has 21 career firefighters assigned to fire and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) operations, on three rotating 48-hour shift tours. Staffing includes our career administrative support staff, Fire Chief, Assistant Fire Chief/Fire Marshal, Mental Health Officer, and Administrative Assistant. Schertz EMS provides ambulance transport and medical care.
UCFD is an all-hazards response department committed to developing highly trained dedicated professionals, that provide fire, medical, rescue services, fire inspections, and emergency management coordination.
The Universal City Professional Firefighters Association (IAFF Local 4073) organize events to raise money for its Burn-out Fund that helps local families who've had their lives devastated by a fire. Fundraising includes two long-standing traditional pancake breakfasts and community restaurants holding special events to support UCPFFA fund raising.
