Drinking Water Quality Reports

Testing

Daily residual tests are conducted to ensure that chlorine and fluoride levels are maintained within proper limits in the distribution system. The city also tests its drinking water for bacteriological contaminants twice a month, using sampling points throughout the area. These samples are sent to a state-approved independent laboratory, with results forwarded to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ). Additionally, TCEQ representatives conduct their own tests throughout the year, checking for contaminants and monitoring levels of minerals and metals. The findings on major constituents are published annually in the Universal City Consumer Confidence Report, also known as the Drinking Water Quality Report.
